Lisa Sendrow is a second-year law student at American University, Washington College of Law. After graduating from Swarthmore College in 2013, she moved to Washington, DC to do some soul searching. This included tutoring, temping, and hostessing, and also interning at a health care consulting firm for about four months. She ended up at Skadden’s DC office in May 2014 as a tax legal assistant/legal reader and, a year later, became the pro bono coordinator. She spent two years in the position, working on many criminal, immigration, housing, and other matters. But she decided she loved the law enough to become the lawyers, and not just the legal assistant. She is relatively new to health law, but is excited to learn. In her free time, Lisa trains Muay Thai, volunteers, and plays with her puppy.
